The Royal Canadian Mint introduced the 25 Gram MapleGram in 2014 with the introduction of the newest weight in the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf Series.

The obverse side of 2022 Canadian Gold MapleGrams includes a bust of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is featured in right-profile relief without a crown or tiara on her head, a first for Canadian coinage during her reign as Queen of England. The design was created in 2003 by Susanna Blunt as the fourth-generation effigy.

On the reverse field of the 2022 25 Gram Canadian Gold MapleGrams, you will find the iconic symbol of the sugar maple leaf. The most prominent species of maple tree in Canada, the sugar maple leaf has been a symbol of Canadian provinces, villages, and trading outposts since the earliest European arrivals.

Founded in 1908, the Royal Canadian Mint is the official sovereign mint of Canada. Initially founded to provide refining capacity for gold and silver following the discovery of both metals in the Yukon Territories, the mint went on to become the sovereign mint of Canada as it gained full independence. Today, it consists of branch facilities in Ottawa and Winnipeg.
