Dedicated to providing investors with unrivalled quality, purity and assurance for more than 30 years, The Perth Mint’s signature bullion gold program continues with the release of its 2020 Australian Kangaroo Gold Bullion Coin Series.
Of the range of five 2020 Australian Kangaroo Gold Bullion Coins, the 1oz, 1/2oz, 1/4oz, and 1/10oz sizes showcase a new design featuring an adult kangaroo on a grassed plain with a joey in the background. The 1 kilo gold coin portrays the classic artistry of a bounding red kangaroo encircled by symbolic rays of sunshine.
Each coin’s reverse includes the inscription ‘AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO’, the 2020 year-date, weight and purity, and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.
The series is available in 1 kilo, 1oz, 1/2oz, 1/4oz and 1/10oz sizes. Whilst the 1 kilo and 1oz coins are not limited in mintage, the 1/2oz, 1/4oz, and 1/10oz will be limited to mintages of 100,000, 150,000 and 200,000 respectively.
All coins are issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965 and bear the Jody Clark effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and monetary denomination on the obverse.
This coin includes an authentication feature on the reverse in the form of a micro-laser engraved letter. Contained within the coin’s inscription ‘AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO’, this letter is only detectable under a magnifying glass. The authentication feature is designed to make it significantly more difficult for the coin to be counterfeited.
