Description
7 Deadly Sins – Pigritia : Sloth Round 5oz
This exclusive sixth release in this new 5 oz .999 fine Silver Round series brings to life a re-imagined version of the magnificent sketches of 17th-century artist Jacques Callot, whose works vividly captured the complexities of human nature by pairing a sin, a scene and a demon. Each design interprets one of the Seven Deadly Sins — pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath, and sloth — reminding us that these age-old struggles remain just as relevant today
Released as part of “The Awakening” program, this sub-series is the first of its kind with a completely unique round design. This program serves a unique role: it awakens not only the senses through striking artistry, but also the conscience thought through timeless truths. The artwork for this 7 part mini series was executed by former US Mint Coin Designer, Joel Iskowitz, and struck in a stunning finish by Scottsdale Mint.
Pigritia is portrayed as a willful surrender to apathy — a quiet neglect of duty and purpose where comfort replaces effort, and the refusal to act becomes a moral failing as destructive as any excess.

In our time, the concept of sin is often dismissed or ignored, not because humanity has transcended it, but because society too easily excuses or glamorizes behaviors that erode virtue. This spectacular limited 7 part series stands as a mirror, inviting us to confront these realities rather than deny them.
The Design
The reverse is standard to all rounds. It features an all-seeing eye above a pyramid, along with seven demons representing the seven deadly sins.
The series name “THE AWAKENING,” and the banner “ANNUIT COEPTIS” as the American Seal, meaning “God has favored our undertakings,” are inscribed on this side.
Information regarding the round’s weight, metal content, and purity read: “.999 SILVER 5 TROY OZ.” Lastly, the words “YOU CAN’T WAKE A PERSON WHO IS PRETENDING TO BE ASLEEP” surround the bottom rim.
On the obverse, Pigritia is depicted as a feminine figure lying on a bed of roses, symbolizing escape from reality and duty through sleep or inaction, along with a sleepy donkey, representing lowness and reluctance to move when commanded, and a demon who plays a violin.
The only engraving on this side is “PIGRITIA.”
