Showcasing the fifth design by acclaimed American engraver John M. Mercanti, this 99.99% pure silver coin pays tribute to Australia’s largest bird of prey with a depiction of a swooping wedge-tailed eagle with its outstretched talons poised to strike.

The design also includes the inscription ‘AUSTRALIAN WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE’, the 2020 year-date, weight and fineness, and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.Issued as Australian legal tender, the coin’s obverse bears the Jody Clark effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the monetary denomination.

The coin has a maximum mintage of 50,000.

AUTHENTICATION FEATURE

Each coin includes an authentication feature in the form of a micro-laser engraved letter. Contained within the reverse design’s inscription ‘AUSTRALIAN WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE’, this letter is only detectable under a magnifying glass.
