This spectacular 1oz silver bullion coin celebrates the famous Super Pit mine in rural Western Australia with a reverse design portraying original artistry of the awe-inspiring landmark.
The Super Pit’s origin dates back to the early 1890s when abundant finds across the outback sent the world racing to Western Australia. It was during this gold rush that the celebrated Golden Mile was delineated near the mining town of Kalgoorlie, which is now home to the Super Pit. At almost 3.5 kilometres long, 1.5 kilometres wide and more than 600 metres deep, the Super Pit produces approximately 700,000 ounces of gold each year.
Struck by The Perth Mint from 1oz of 99.99% pure silver The Super Pit coin’s reverse design depicts the awe-inspiring mine, the inscription ‘SUPER PIT AUSTRALIA 1OZ 9999 SILVER’ and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark. Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin bears the new Jody Clark effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse and the denomination. This bullion coin has a worldwide mintage of 100,000.
