This 2016 1kg Year of the Monkey Silver Coin is the 9th design in the Lunar Series II, and an exciting addition to Provident Metals’ offerings of Perth Mint products. The reverse portrays two monkeys – an adult and a baby – perched upon a peach tree branch. The baby has a peach in its right hand. In the Chinese culture, peaches represent a long, healthy life. “Year of the Monkey” and a symbol meaning “monkey” are also engraved.

Inscriptions of “ELIZABETH II”, “AUSTRALIA”, “2016”, and the coin’s weight, metal purity and denomination encircle the portrait.
