Description
A GREAT ADDITION TO YOUR NEST EGG!
Australia’s largest bird of prey, the Wedge-tailed Eagle, has been portrayed for The Perth Mint by renowned US engraver John M. Mercanti in a series of outstanding designs since 2014. Observed across the entire continent, wedge-tailed eagles can be distinguished by their distinctive wedge-shaped tails and fully feathered legs. The large birds favour lightly wooded country where they can hunt for prey such as rabbits, hares, lizards and snakes.
Struck from 1oz of 99.99% pure silver, this superb investment coin portrays John M. Mercanti’s seventh artistic impression of a wedge-tailed eagle. The coin portrays a dramatic close-up impression of the magnificent bird’s head. The artistry highlights its superbly effective eyes, which allow it to pinpoint prey from a great height, and a large, hooked beak, which it uses to rip the hide and meat from prey.
As well as the coin’s weight, fineness and 2022 year-date, the reverse also incorporates The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.
The coin has a maximum mintage of 50,000.
AUTHENTICATION FEATURE
For additional peace-of-mind, the coin incorporates an authentication feature in the form of a micro-laser engraved letter. Detectable under a magnifying glass, it is designed to make it significantly more difficult for the coin to be counterfeited.
Each coin is presented in a protective acrylic capsule.
