The Perth Mint is excited to release the fifth design in our Mother and Baby Series with this 2oz silver bullion piedfort coin featuring a delightful representation of familial love in the Australian landscape. The coin portrays a dingo sitting with its attentive pup amid wildflowers.

The Perth Mint’s traditional ‘P’ mintmark and a background of radial lines are also included in the design. Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin’s obverse bears the Jody Clark effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2022 year-date, the weight and purity and the monetary denomination.

Struck from 2oz of 99.99% pure silver on an extra-thick blank, this release has a mintage of 75,000.

AUTHENTICATION FEATURE

Each coin’s reverse includes a security feature in the form of a micro-laser engraved letter within the design. It is only detectable under a magnifying glass.

Hungry for growth

Dingo pups venture from their underground den for the first time after about three weeks. Accompanied by their parents, they soon begin to explore further afield, learning how to navigate Australia’s unforgiving landscapes. Less reliant on their mother’s milk by two months old, they’re on their way to becoming Australia’s largest carnivorous mammals.
