The 2020 issue of Australian Kookaburra coins represents the 30^th anniversary of one of the Perth Mints longest-running series. The silver and gold coins for sale this year have special nods to the 1990 debut of the collection, and in the case of the gold coins in this listing, some first-time issues.

The Perth Mint issues the silver and gold bullion versions of the Australian Kookaburra each year, but it is typically the silver version that offers more variety in terms of weights. To mark the 30^th anniversary of this coveted coin series, the mint has decided to release a first-ever 1/10 oz Gold Kookaburra coin.

While the silver 30^th-anniversary coins in 2020 have both a new 2020 design and the 1990 design, the smaller surface area of the 1/10 oz Gold Kookaburra only allows the Perth Mint to use Stuart Devlins original design from the first issue of the coins in 1990.

The reverse side of 2020 1/10 oz Australian Gold Kookaburra Coins bears the image of a lone kookaburra perched on the stump of a tree in the Outback. The bird is surrounded by foliage in the design and sits in right-profile relief. Inscriptions on this side include the commemorative date marks of 1990 and 2020.

On the obverse of all 2020 1/10 oz Australian Gold Kookaburra Coins, you will find the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Her Majesty is depicted here in a right-profile portrait of Jody Clark. This design is the sixth to feature on Australian and Commonwealth coins. It captures the Queen wearing the George VI State Diadem crown. This is the first time since 1966 the Queens portrait has included her neckline and shoulders on Australian coins.
